Clinical Evaluation of Roxithromycin(Rulid^(®)) in Respiratory Tract Infections

Abstract

|
|
Clinical usefulness of roxithromycin, a new semi-synthetic macrolide, was studied in patients with respiratory tract infection, Roxithromycin was administerated to 24 patients in daily dose of 300 mg for 6 to 12 days, Clinical effects were assessed as excellent in 9 cases and good in 11 cases with efficacy rate of 83.3%. Mild nausea in two cases, transient elevation of transaminase in one case and pruritus in one case was experienced but neither was to an extent to stop medication.
